The former senator was extradited from Jamaica to the U.S. in June accused of conspiring to commit murder or kidnapping outside the United States and providing material support resulting in death.Two other people also have pleaded guilty. Haitian-Chilean businessman Rodolphe Jaar was sentenced in June to life in prison. The sentencing for former Colombian soldier German Alejandro Rivera Garcia is set for Oct. 27.Among the people arrested after the killing are 18 former Colombian soldiers who are in custody in Haiti.Since the assassination, the Caribbean country has also experienced a surge of gang violence that led the prime minister to request the deployment of an armed force. The U.N. 三 | 下达消费品以旧换新资金1875亿元，带动相关商品销售额约1.32万亿元，惠及1.78亿人次。在50个试点城市开展有奖发票活动，带动相关领域销售额超3700亿元。
四 | 此外，今年更加积极财政政策的重头戏之一，就是创新设立了财政金融协同促内需的6项政策工具。相关政策工具出台7个多月以来，累计支持相关领域新发放信贷超20万亿元，较上年同期增长了超8800亿元、增幅为4.5%，有约1.13亿人次居民、超620万家企业获得了政策支持。 投资方面，加快超长期特别国债发行使用，其中8000亿元“两重”资金已全部下达，支持1417个重点领域重大项目建设。发挥地方政府专项债券带动作用，截至7月底全国已发行2026年新增专项债券2.4万亿元，支持建设项目超过1.8万个。 中国式现代化，民生为大。随着中国式现代化建设的深入推进，人民群众对上学、看病、住房等民生保障有着更高期盼，在养老服务、育幼、出行等身边事上有着更多需求。 今年，超30万亿元全国一般公共预算中安排教育、社保、卫生、住房等方面的资金达到了12.4万亿元，比上年增长5.4%，高于全国一般公共预算支出增幅1个百分点。 财政聚焦“一老一小”这两个最牵动家庭的关键群体精准发力：一方面，持续提升养老、医疗等民生保障水平，在全国范围内向中度以上失能老年人发放养老服务消费补贴，支持农村地区65岁及以上老年人等群体免费接种流感疫苗。另一方面，下达241亿元补助资金，支持地方落实学前一年免保育教育费政策；下达约1000亿元补助资金用于发放育儿补贴，超过2500万名婴幼儿及其家庭领到了2026年度育儿补贴。此外，财政部预计今年全年超过4400万人领取低保、特困人员供养等基本生活救助。教育公平稳步提升。下达学生资助资金超过1600亿元，预计全年将有1.5亿人次受益。 中青报·中青网记者 张均斌 来源：中国青年报。
