一 |     The makers of Retta Thala unveiled the trailer of the film at a launch event held in Chennai, setting the stage for a high energy action drama led by Arun Vijay. Directed by Kris Thirukumaran, the film positions itself as a commercial entertainer with a psychological edge, drawing attention for its dual perspective storytelling and scale driven action set pieces.     Unlike a conventional action trailer, Retta Thala unfolds from the point of view of the second character portrayed by Arun Vijay. This narrative choice immediately signals that the film is not just about spectacle but also about perception, conflict, and consequence. The teaser had earlier introduced audiences to Malpe Upendra, a feared gangster navigating betrayal and survival. The newly released trailer expands this world, revealing how the second character becomes entangled in the chaos that follows.     Two lives, one collision     The trailer charts the growing tension between Arun Vijay’s two roles while placing Siddhi Idnani’s character at the heart of the turmoil. Their characters are shown caught in a dangerous spiral, struggling to break free from forces that appear larger than them. Action sequences punctuate the narrative, but the emotional stakes remain central, suggesting a film that aims to balance adrenaline with character driven drama.                                         Kris Thirukumaran, who previously directed Maan Karate and Gethu, brings a sharper and darker tone this time around. Before stepping into direction, he worked closely with AR Murugadoss on films such as Ghajini, 7 aum Arivu, and Thuppaki, experience that reflects in the trailer’s pacing and staging. The influence of mainstream action cinema is visible, but the trailer hints at an attempt to push beyond formula by playing with identity and viewpoint.     A familiar ensemble with a festive release     Retta Thala features an ensemble cast that includes Tanya Ravichandra, Yogi Samy, John Vijay, Hareesh Peradi, and Balaji Murugadoss, each appearing briefly in the trailer but leaving an impression. The supporting characters seem positioned to add texture and conflict to the central narrative, especially within the gangster milieu the film explores.Produced by Bobby Balachandran under the BTG Universal banner, the film also benefits from the music of Sam CS, who has composed the soundtrack and written the lyrics. The background score in the trailer leans heavily into mood and tension, underlining both the action and the emotional beats.                                                                 View this post on Instagram          A post shared by Arun Vijay (@arunvijayno1)               Scheduled for a theatrical release on December 25, Retta Thala is shaping up to be a Christmas offering that banks on star power, stylised action, and an intriguing narrative hook. Experts assessed each child’s physical condition, lifestyle and psychological well-being before developing individualized management plans.    During the program, specialists provided guidance on nutrition, exercise, mental health and obesity-related health risks, helping families build healthier daily habits.    Participants also learned how to read food labels and make healthier dietary choices, while receiving information on medication and surgical options for obesity treatment, as well as traditional Chinese medicine approaches.    The Shanghai Health Promotion Center said it will continue to strengthen cooperation among medical institutions, communities and schools, while promoting more systematic approaches to the prevention and management of childhood obesity.        (By Helen Mo, intern Liu Shuangjing)                    。
